We were glad to bring the Taiyo.AI story to one of the world's great universities. Dr. Saurabh Mishra was invited as a guest speaker for the Entrepreneurship in Engineering & Construction course at Columbia University, hosted by Pierce Reynoldson and Ibrahim Odeh, PhD. The session focused on the practical application of AI within the global infrastructure sector — and on what it really takes to build something meaningful in a deeply analog industry.

The first was digitisation: how traditional sectors like construction are beginning to scale AI, specifically in early-stage planning where data-driven insights have the highest impact. The second was data standards — the challenges posed by the absence of common frameworks across global jurisdictions, and the role of standardised platforms in making AI implementation possible at all. The third was Cognitive Infrastructure: the shift toward using AI to augment human judgment and capture institutional knowledge to improve planning and adaptability across the AEC ecosystem. That last theme resonated most, because it reframes AI not as a replacement but as a memory — one the industry has desperately lacked.

The session highlighted Taiyo.AI's role as a standardised infrastructure data platform, utilising multi-agent generative AI to help the industry identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
