Taiyo.AI at London Business School: AI and the Future of Competitive Advantage

Dr. Saurabh Mishra joined London Business School to discuss how AI is transforming global infrastructure and redefining competitive strategy for industries and governments.

We were honoured to bring Taiyo.AI's ideas to one of the world's leading business schools. On September 23rd, our CEO and Co-founder Dr. Saurabh Mishra was invited to London Business School (LBS) to lead a session on how AI is redefining competitive advantage in global infrastructure. The event, hosted at the Sammy Ofer Centre, brought together the LBS Infrastructure Alumni Club, the Data & AI Association, and the Infrastructure & Construction Club — a combination that made for a genuinely sharp and wide-ranging room.

Moving Beyond the Hype

The discussion centred on the intersection of data, strategy, and practical execution. For governments and private enterprises alike, competitive advantage in infrastructure is increasingly defined by the ability to turn fragmented data into decisions that actually stick — not by access to the best individual tools, but by the organisational capacity to use them consistently.

Three themes shaped the conversation. The first was the modernisation of traditional workflows: how AI is moving the infrastructure industry toward a digital-first approach in ways that compound over time. The second was what we call the strategy of data — the idea that the winners in the next decade of infrastructure will be those who can leverage grounded intelligence to make faster, more accurate decisions under uncertainty. The third was organisational transformation: the leadership and policy shifts required to successfully integrate emerging technologies, not just deploy them.

Engaging the Next Generation of Leaders

There is something genuinely energising about taking these ideas into a room full of people who will be running the infrastructure industry in ten years. By sharing real-world insights at the intersection of engineering and economics, we hope to help bridge the gap between academic frameworks and the messy, high-stakes reality of industrial decision-making.

We would like to thank Radim Radkovsky and the various LBS associations for creating the conditions for such a rich and honest conversation. We left inspired.
