AI as Cognitive Infrastructure: QEST 2025

We were honoured to open the QEST 2025 — Qatar Engineers Summit in Doha. On October 12th, Taiyo.AI's CEO Dr. Saurabh Mishra delivered the keynote address to a room of engineering leaders and policymakers gathered to debate the technological shifts defining the future of the built environment. Being asked to set the tone for that conversation was a responsibility we took seriously.

The keynote, titled "AI as Cognitive Infrastructure: Rethinking Project Intelligence and Execution in Construction," made the case that the industry's biggest challenge is not the physical build — it is the quality of the intelligence that guides it.

The Argument

Saurabh laid out three interconnected shifts that define the transformation underway. The first is the move from simple automation to Cognitive Infrastructure: a layer of intelligence that supports complex decision-making throughout the full project lifecycle, not just at discrete points. The second is a redefinition of what project intelligence actually means — how standardised data enables more accurate forecasting, risk mitigation, and performance tracking in large-scale engineering projects where small errors compound into enormous costs. The third is the future of execution itself: how AI-driven insights reduce inefficiencies on the ground and align engineering practices with the standards that modern projects demand.

The reception from the room was strong. Engineers and policymakers alike recognised the urgency of building better data foundations — and the conversation continued long after the session ended. This is exactly the kind of engagement that pushes the work forward.
