The Prompt: Reshaping Global Strategy and the $13 Trillion Infrastructure Gap

Taiyo.AI CEO Dr. Saurabh Mishra joined Dr. Annurag Batra on 'The Prompt' to discuss AI sovereignty, the Second Service Revolution, and why infrastructure is the next great frontier for Vertical AI.

Following the India AI Impact Summit 2026, Taiyo.AI CEO Dr. Saurabh Mishra sat down with Dr. Annurag Batra for a wide-ranging, candid episode of The Prompt — one of the most honest conversations we have had on camera about what it actually takes to bring intelligence to the world's largest industry. The discussion covered everything from the high-stakes geopolitics of AI to the ground-level realities of a $13 trillion infrastructure sector that remains one of the least digitised in the global economy.

This is the conversation we wish more people in the industry were having.

AI Sovereignty as Economic Competitiveness

A central theme of the interview was the shift from "AI for the sake of AI" to AI as a driver of national competitiveness. Saurabh and Dr. Batra explored why AI Sovereignty — the ability for a nation to build and control its own AI stacks — must translate into tangible economic value, or it is just expensive window dressing.

The discussion moved through India's unique opportunity in what Saurabh calls the Second Service Revolution: moving beyond the traditional IT services model by embedding AI into domain-specific services to lead a new wave of high-value, tech-enabled exports. It examined how the U.S. and China are deploying AI differently across their respective physical infrastructures, and what other nations can learn from both. And it came back repeatedly to the vertical AI question: why general-purpose models are insufficient for heavy industry, and why the precision and safety demands of a $13 trillion construction sector require intelligence that is grounded in that domain.

Closing the Infrastructure Intelligence Gap

The interview surfaced a problem that the industry has long accepted as inevitable but shouldn't: infrastructure continues to suffer from fragmented data, relationship-driven deal sourcing, and a near-total absence of real-time visibility. This "intelligence gap" leads to systemic waste, delays, and decisions that are more art than science.

In a LinkedIn repost of the interview, Jie Hayes (Founder & CIO at Songbird Capital) noted that the sector has long needed its own version of Bloomberg L.P. or PitchBook — structured datasets across global project pipelines, contractor and supplier ecosystems, and complex geopolitical and regulatory risks. That is exactly what Taiyo.AI is building.

Human-Centered AI and New Partnerships

A defining philosophy running through the entire conversation was the importance of Human-Centered AI. Technology should enhance the judgment of the people making hard infrastructure decisions — not replace it, and certainly not obscure it behind a black box.

We are also proud to announce that Songbird Capital has joined forces with Taiyo.AI on this journey. This partnership reflects a shared conviction that greater intelligence, transparency, and resilience in the global infrastructure ecosystem is not just good strategy — it is necessary.
